The Skykomish River comes tumbling down from the North
Central Cascades through a steep and rugged valley.
It is one of the most beautiful rivers in the state.
Three miles into the trip you are faced with the infamous
class IV, "Boulder Drop". This drop challenges even
the most experienced boaters. Exhilarating rapids such
as "Lama Ledges", "Aquagasm", "Lunch Hole", "Railroad", "Fun", "Proctor Rapid", and "Deja
Vu" will continue to keep your adrenaline pumping. Fed by the Cascades many tributaries the amount of water moving through this section of river (the CFS) can grow eight times before it forces us to the" North Fork Sky" run.
(The North Fork is the alternative for the Main Skykomish run when the CFS is to great to run Boulder Drop!)

The family-friendly Lower Skykomish Float Trip is the best and closest nature trip to Seattle. Starting where the Main Skykomish River trip concludes its whitewater run, the Lower Sky offers jagged snow capped mountain peaks, evergreen forest, wildflowers, and a meadering river adventure for all ages. Your guides will share fascinating local history from the pioneer days, point out salmon and waterfowl, and identify a variety of northwest flora and fauna. This is one of the top feeding grounds for the many bald eagles, osprey and hawks that make this river valley their home. We will have several stops along the way; natural clay deposits, a warm water spring, swimming holes, and picturesque points for amazing photos! Fun for the whole family, this trip is designed for all who want to explore the Wild and Scenic Skykomish River at a more relaxing pace, away from the cares of everyday life!
Ideal for families, school groups, environmental clubs, scouts, and classes.

NOTE: This section of river is only runable during the season's larger flows +10,000 CFS on the MAIN SKY.
The North Fork of the Skykomish River is "a whitewater rafting roller coaster ride" five miles long through the WILD SKY WILDERNESS. We start this adventure at Trout Creek, a tributary known for its minerals, and don't stop until we reach the Index River House. Quick turns, sudden drops, and lots of whitewater. If you are an adrenaline junkie and have a schedule that lends to a last minute whitewater rafting trip down one of the most pristine sections of river in the US; then sign up for our Big Water News and get notified when this section is in.
(This is also our trip alternative for the Main Skykomish run.)

The birthplace of this spectacular river lies
high in the snowfields of the Goat Rocks Wilderness. During the spring and
summer, a large earth dam, forming Rimrock Lake, retains the melt off from
these snowfields. Then, every September, the Bureau of Land Reclamation opens
the floodgates of the dam, sending 2,000 CFS down the Tieton Valley. There is
only one word to describe this river and that is FAST. The Tieton is the
steepest river that we run, with a 600-foot drop in elevation from launch to
finish. |

When you arrive at the put-in for the White Salmon,
looking over the large cliffs, you will be convinced
of the exciting day that awaits. As you walk to the
edge of a large cliff, you will get your first glimpse
of the White Salmon. Once in the river, the rapids
are consecutive and the current swift all in the shadow
of Mt Adams. Within seconds, we will be faced with
fantastic rapids such as "Shark's Fin," "Corkscrew
Falls," and "Waterspout." Permission to raft the White
Salmon is granted by the Columbia River Gorge National
Scenic Area.
