Outdoor Guide or Recreationalist

Are you prepared to deal with every situation mother nature may throw your way while out on an adventure? It would be impossible to be prepared for EVERY situation, but it is definitely a good idea to be prepared for most. The more time you spend outdoors, the better your odds are that you will find yourself in a situation where either you need to rescue someone or someone needs to rescue you. We at Wave Trek are committed to educating and training outdoor guides or enthusiasts like you how to react to averse situations that may affect the safety of you and others around you.

Professionals

As a fireman, policeman, coast guard officer or any other professional trained in safety and rescue, you need the most current methods and information available and be trained in a realistic, hands-on environment. Chris Jonason, the owner and head instructor at Wave Trek travels the world year-round training professionals in the art of safety and rescue and is constantly finding ways to improve the technique and implementation of these lifesaving courses.

FIRST AID AND CPR

American Heart Association
Heartsaver CPR Course - Adult Only Course

Students will be granted a Heartsaver CPR certification after completion of this 3 hour course.
The Heartsaver CPR course is a 3 hour modular course that teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for adult, child, and infant victims. Students also learn to recognize the warning signs of heart attack and stroke in adults and breathing difficulties in children.

Heartsaver First Aid Course

Students will be granted a Heartsaver First Aid Course after completion of this 7hour course.It teaches rescuers to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies in the critical first minutes until emergency medical services personnel arrive. The course also provides a complete health and safety training solution for first aid.

WILDERNESS FIRST RESPONDER COURSE

This 9 day intensive course, has become the industry standard for most guide services and environmental education programs. Our course includes lots of anatomy and physiology, aiding in the analytical thought process involved in wilderness medicine. We feel, that if one understands how the body works they can then better understand what it needs during traumatic, environmental and medical emergencies. Our classroom time includes a variety of scenarios, labs and a night rescue simulation. This course includes CPR certification.

1 DAY ACA KAYAK RESCUE

For those who do not have the time for a 3-day course this is an intensive one-day look at kayak rescue. You will learn about basic rope techniques, rescue jackets, group organization and much more.

3 DAY ACA KAYAK RESCUE

A 2-1/2 day course covering the latest in basic rescue techniques for boaters using a minimal amount of gear. We work on vertical pins, wrapped and broached boats, body and foot entrapments, safe swimming techniques and use of rescue jackets. This is taught by American Canoe Association certified instructors.
